New Year resolution

Keep your liver
healthy and strong

It's a funny year we've just embarked on. Everyone knows that something is brewing. Predictions ranging from the most sinister of sickness, natural disasters, economic collapse, annihilation of the Earth and more to the most beautiful possible, where we are on the way to the golden age, where we all just have it good, take care of each other are happy, loving, and so on.

Even though I think I have studied many theories, weighing for and against, I have given up on finding out what this year will bring. But one thing I know for sure, I intend to live as much as possible in the present, put the fear aside and concentrate on the close things; be pleased and hopefully spread pleasure, keep my body healthy, keep myself in shape, eat as healthy as possible, take the best antioxidants, etc. Of course we must keep the whole body healthy because, as we all in this world are related to each other so are the cells in our body. The organ I have chosen to focus on this article is our liver. There are many reasons for this choice. It was first the late Dr. Vogel who once wrote that if you have a healthy liver, you also have a healthy body, and it is precisely the liver many of us have been a little hard on through Christmas and New Year festivities.

Symptoms
Typical symptoms of a worn down liver are; feeling extremely tired even if you've slept enough, a tendency to dizziness, skin problems for example, acne, eczema, psoriasis, pigmentation changes due to age, constipation, pain in joints and muscles, etc. Other symptoms of a dysfunctional liver are; the whites of the eyes becoming cloudy, yellowish, difficulty in breaking down fatty food, tobacco smoke, perfume and other strong scents is not tolerated.

Food - detoxification and supplements
The key word for a healthy liver is detoxification. One of the wonderful thing about our liver is its capacity to regenerate itself no matter in what badly shape it is, by simply changing our lifestyle, keep a good diet and taking the right supplements. Limit the use of alcohol to 1 to 2 glasses a day, or exclude it completely for a while. Avoid refined foods. Eat as much as possible organic food. Reduce intake of saturated fat and eat instead fish and other essential oils. Eat lot of vegetables and fruit; berries, beets, celery, broccoli, celery cabbage. Sprinkle a dessert spoon of lecithin over your breakfast. Lecithin helps the body to break down fat and thus facilitating the hepatic burden. Avoid eating heavy meals, eat rather small light meals. It eases liver's work. Keep a good diet and take the right supplements

Good supplements
I always emphasize the importance of a solid base by taking a good multivitamin / mineral product such. Omnimin, Spektro, Mivitotal etc. and an oil capsule with essential oils. Make sure this oil is of a good quality without toxins, for example. CardioMega, EPA + GLA, Bio-Marin. Milk Thistle is the most famous living product containing bioflavonoid such as silymarin. It promotes cell regeneration in the liver, increases the body's levels of glutathione, which is a very important antioxidant of the liver. Milk thistle has been shown to be good at repairing the liver when it has been damaged by alcohol. Alpha Lipoid Acid is a very strong antioxidant. I love Alfa Lipoid Acid because among the many benefits it has; it increases the effect of other antioxidants in the body. Actually it is taken by many diabetics to avoid complications and some researchers believe that it might help to prevent blood clots and heart disease. Alpha Lipoic works extremely well with Q 10 and vitamin C in the body.

Small tips
There is a lot more you could do for your liver, but the space here is limited so I will just give you some advices. If you believe that your liver is overloaded, seek a doctor who specializes in liver and preferably also is a specialist in natural medicine. If you smoke, stop or limit your smoking. I have also seen that EDTA therapy has done wonders in overworked liver. Find a doctor with this specialized training. Avoid pollution. Find joy as it has been shown that anger and poor liver function are linked.

From the bottom of my heart
I wish you a Happy New Year.
