My best friend is in Mexico. When I saw the news on TV about the new swine flu that had broken out in Mexico, I immediately called him and explained what he should do to make his immune system strong and healthy.
Pandemic or not, it is always good to care about ones immune system.
The immune system is a fantastic complex network of cells, organs and liquids helping us to defend us from the millions of bacteria’s, virus, and fungus that daily bombards us through our skin, mucus membranes in the lungs and the digestion system. Our health depends on the effect of our immune system. That’s why it’s important to keep the immune system strong.
Be observant about how your body feels. Make sure to get enough sleep. A good slogan is “go to bed the same day you got up”.
Important aspects for a good immune system.
Make sure to get a healthy, pure and in the widest possible range organic food. Detox once in a while. Be careful with tobacco, alcohol, sweet and too much coffee.
Avoid too much stress. Make sure to get sun, air, good quality water and exercise.
All circumstances of live have an effect on each other also ones will to live, our thoughts, and emotional patterns have an effect on our immune system. Therefore remember to have a good laugh!
All kinds of trouble with the immune system, fore example recurrent virus infections can be caused by something as simple as deficiency in Zink. Even if you think that you eat a good diet, it can be helpful to keep the immune system boosted by taking a good multivitamin/mineral supplement eventually combined with amino acids/proteins and a little extra Zinc.
Pure organic yoghurt tastes wonderful. If you wish to boost your immune system, it is a good idea to start the day with a couple of deciliter yoghurt with a little muesli without sugar. Several researchers found that yoghurt boosts the immune system. A research result from George Halpen, a professor in Immunology with University of California, proved that gamma-interferon, a infection reducing stuff, rose with 500% both in old as in young people when taking 3 deciliter yoghurt during one year. It is always best to get most nutrition from food.. I am very fond of supplements and realize the need for it, but it must never make it ok to eat junk food.
Supplement helps your immune system to prevent illness and also helps your body to heal faster if you unfortunately got ill in the first place.
Good Supplements
Coenzyme Q 10,
is involved in many things like cardiovascular problems, inflammation and immune system. Daily dose 100-200 mg. Q 10 now comes in an easier obtainable form. I take it myself and I find that it really makes a difference. The product is called BioActive Q 10 Uniquinol, and is especially good for people with problems obtaining the usual Q 10, elderly people and people suffering from liver or pancreas problems.

Echinecea
Is known to boost the body’s immunes system. To my opinion it has the best effect when taken with the first sign of illness.
Astragalus
Is a Chinese herb, traditionally used to boost the immune system. Astragalus is also found in the product OmniVital both giving energy and boost the immune system.
Garlic
Shown effortful towards bacteria’s and virus. Research from animal have shown a protecting effect towards virus.
Bio-Glucan
Is a new product which has shown a helpful effect on the natural immune system. It is a normal sugar stuff belonging to the most important defends against all forms of infections. Especially in a time with antibiotics and vaccine resistance, increasing.
L-Carnitine
An amino acid shown to be a good idea for a weak immune system. Further more is L-Carnetine good for energy.
Alpha Lipoic Acid
Is one of my favorites because it is a strong and broad specter antioxidants which among other things boost the immune system.
Small tips
There has been during all this swine-flu-talk been referring to the importance of hand washing. I recommend soap with Tea Tree Oil which can remove the bacteria’s and virus from hands and nails.
In this day and age you should of cause, go to your doctor if you have flu symptoms. You can as self-help take 1 gram vitamin-C every hour for 6 hours and thereafter 1 - 4 gram during the day for the next few days.
Welcome your fever. It is only a well functional immune system that can provide fever.
Louise Hay writes in her book: “Health, Mind and Body” about flu that the course can be: “accepting a lot of negativity. Fair. Believe in statistics. You can change your thought-patterns and say in affirmation:” I set myself beyond group opinions and time calculations. I am free of all straining influence”.
High blood pressure
With age many peoples blood pressure goes up. It is almost like an epidemic in our part of the world. Many research results have shown that higher blood pressure often relates to free radicals and can be suppressed with antioxidants and other factors such as salt and body weight.
It looks like vitamin-C is effective, when it comes to keeping blood pressure in control, especially if it’s taken with a lot of fruit and vegetables. Make sure also to get enough magnesium, omega-3 fatty acids, like CardiOmega and vitamin-B, limit your alcohol and salt intake. To be peaceful in you is a good life-rule, when it comes to your blood pressure balance.
Pycnogenol
EIs an antioxidant you find in French Pine bark. It helps to improve elasticity and flexibility in muscles, ligaments and sinew. It can help to suppress and lift allergic reactions. If you are going on a long term flight it is good because it relaxes the blood veins, boost them and improve the circulation. Manu suffering high blood pressure have realized that it has a normalizing effect on their blood pressure. It also helps to boost the immune system. Further more I find it very good for the skin, helping the skin to stay elastic and smooth. It is part of the product Evelle for hair, skin and nails.
Sjoegren’s syndrome
Is a disease recognized with dryness in the eyes, mouth and all the mucus membranes. Many have been helped by taking Alpha Lepoic Acid with it’s antioxidant effect made originally of potatoes. In 1999 a research showed a positive effect by taking Longo Vital. Further more it has shown that omega 7oil, vitamin-E and Beta-Carotene and Zink can be helpful.
